So you are forced to give them new formation orders every single time you want to move them. Every time you reselect a group of units it resets their formation. So how are you supposed to decide if a 10% growth rate increase is a good direction to go in? And this is the same for virtually all the stats. Additionally the games does not list your cities current growth rates. Searching it in the games online manual comes up with nothing. I still have no clue what authority does. However, since you have no way to check what your current values are or even what these stats do exactly you really can't make an informed decision. When your generals or cities gain promotions you get to choose between bonuses such as +1 authority or +10% growth rate. This is a game with countless stats that you need to manage to succeed at, however there is no way to get a list of the current stats or a description of what they do for either your cities or generals. Bugs aside there are other issues with this game that really need to be addressed. For the more tech savy of us there are ways to tweak the settings so the game does run somewhat smoothly and stable, however I feel many people will not get to that point. It is filling with graphical glitches, performance issues and crashes. Currently the game is very close to unplayable. I feel there may be a decent title hiding here behind the many bugs and performance issues but it is rather hard to see at the moment. It doesn't really deserve a nine I am just being easy on the fact that fighting battle are not fun and are stupidly easy because I think how the campaign works its an improvement. I just think when it comes to AI and actually fighting it falls short and the other games to me looked more polish, and are much better to play fights on also I think they went backwards on graphics as well. I think it has improved in campaign in the fact of how you manage everything, and I like the size of the maps and the tons of different battle setting such as coastal battles and such. I think that CA rushed this game I still think they have potential to make the greatest total war game and the best strategy game ever, which I think their other games are. I gave it a 9/10 for being rome total war 2 but for being a total war game I would give it a 5/10. Campaign is good except for AI but the diplomacy and everything else is fine. More diverse units and elephants and chariots I find to be to powerful. AI is too easy not a challenge to play campaign. Slingers are like Archers and Javelin combined,Low Damage,Decent Armor piercing,and ALOT of Ammo,so they're good against slow armored guys,like those Spartans(all of Spartan units are either Very Heavy or Super Heavy)Īrchers in the other hand,are that Anti-Skirmisher units,they have a large Damage,which means using them against other skirmisher is like a good idea,since most skirmisher has bad shields,and armor.I think it was a great game could be a ten but a few issues. Originally posted by Tom:yes you do but you can get that pretty fast if you attack your enemies fast and also occupying,and strategically defending your newly aquired regions,it will took a while,even for a insane Garrison Region(2 Barracks in 1 Region,so you can have 4-8 Extra Garrisons)to take shape,and be able to repel counter attacks while your armies is away conquering the next region.Īlso don't forget those Provincial instability,and always remember to have some statesman ready,just incase you need some 1 Good units,or needed some extra Food,and Public Order(Power and Politics) Javelins are good at Flanking,try using them as a support for your flanking cavalry,or infantry. ![]()
